Handi-Craft Chooses Demand Solutions DSX SaaS

Handi-Craft Chooses Demand Solutions® DSX to Transform Its Supply Chain Planning Process in the Cloud

St. Louis-Based Company Eyes Higher Customer Service Levels, Leaner Inventories

ST. LOUIS (October 31, 2017) – Demand Management Inc., a leading global resource for cloud-based supply chain management solutions, announced today that Handi-Craft Company, the manufacturer and distributor of Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow® baby bottles, has chosen Demand Solutions DSX SaaS as its new supply chain planning platform. The Demand Solutions cloud platform will support Handi-Craft’s North American operations at its headquarters in St. Louis.

Until recently, Handi-Craft planned its supply chain via Excel spreadsheets. However, with this labor-intensive planning process, the company was spending 80 percent of its planning time entering and formatting data and only 20 percent actually analyzing the data. Hoping to gain greater insights into its business, Handi-Craft began looking for an automated supply chain planning solution.

The company evaluated several leading solutions before choosing Demand Solutions DSX. Excited about leveraging the latest in cloud-based planning solutions, its leadership plans to redesign the company’s supply chain processes around the Demand Solutions DSX platform to better support its rapid growth and expanding customer portfolio.

“We are looking forward to generating highly accurate forecasts automatically in the cloud with Demand Solutions DSX,” says Matt Whaley, director of purchasing, Handi-Craft. “This will enable us to reduce the time, effort, and stress involved in creating forecasts and allow us to reallocate that time to analyzing and aligning our business. With better forecasts in hand, we aim to increase our customer service levels while reducing our inventory holdings.”

The addition of DSX will also help Handi-Craft manage their rapid growth and be better prepared for planned and unplanned shutdowns as the company does a lot of business with oversea vendors.

Demand Management’s local presence will enable the company to provide Handi-Craft with knowledgeable, attentive customer service as Handi-Craft overhauls its supply chain processes.

“Like many manufacturers, Handi-Craft relies on its forecasts to guide it to better supply chain decisions,” says Bill Harrison, president, Demand Management. “Using a SaaS supply chain planning platform will provide Handi-Craft with an easily configurable solution that will scale with the company’s growing and ever-changing supply chain. We look forward to partnering with this local company to help them achieve greater global success.”

Siemens Healthineers Wins Ventana Leadership Award

Siemens Healthineers Wins Ventana Leadership Award in Service and Supply Chain Excellence

ST. LOUIS (October 5, 2017) – Demand Management, Inc. is pleased to announce that Joanna George, senior manager of global demand planning and processes at Siemens Healthineers, has been honored with the 2016 Ventana Research Business Technology Leadership Award in Service and Supply Chain Excellence. The award was given to her and the company for their implementation of Demand Management’s Demand Solutions supply chain planning solution to improve forecast accuracy, lower inventory, and improve cash flow.

The award in Service and Supply Chain Excellence recognizes the organization that has best contributed to, or led efforts to, optimize supply chain performance through applications and analytics. Ms. George received the honor in the category of Operational Leadership. The awards are intended to bring forward leaders and pioneers who have contributed to their organizations’ successes.

“Demand Management is delighted to congratulate Joanna George and Siemens Healthineers on this prestigious award,” said Bill Harrison, President, Demand Management. “We are deeply honored that our supply chain planning software played a transformative role in improving forecast accuracy for our distinguished customer.

Siemens Healthineers needed to quickly migrate away from an acquisition’s spreadsheet-based planning to the Demand Solutions software to leverage its more robust forecasting. The company wanted to achieve or exceed 85% forecast accuracy for its reagent and consumables product planning, to better anticipate demand, and meet customer delivery expectations. This would also “right-size” inventory levels at distribution centers in the European Union and the United States, minimizing overstock and obsolescence.

“Demand Management is only successful when our customers are successful,” Harrison said. “Forecast accuracy is crucial in today’s business world, where demand comes from multiple channels, supply crosses complex, multitier networks, and customers expect rapid fulfillment of their orders. Joanna George and Siemens Healthineers have shown that an advanced supply chain planning solution can reduce demand uncertainty. This helps ensure that product is produced and inventory staged at the right place and time. Through this award-winning solution implementation, their demand planning organization has measurably impacted business success.”

Andis Company Selects Demand Solutions DSX Forecast Management

Andis Company Selects Demand Solutions DSX Forecast Management to Improve Forecast Accuracy

Manufacturer of Hair Grooming Products Replaces Spreadsheets with a Robust Supply Chain Planning Solution

ST. LOUIS (September 27, 2016) – Demand Management Inc., a leading global resource for cloud-based supply chain management solutions, announced today that Andis Company has purchased Demand Solutions DSX as its new supply chain planning solution. This leading provider of hair grooming products will use Demand Solutions DSX Forecast Management to improve the accuracy of its forecasts.

Andis Company’s new Demand Solutions DSX platform will replace a homegrown forecasting system. Based on spreadsheets, this system had become increasingly frustrating for the company’s planners to use.

“There’s only so much you can do to improve the accuracy of your forecasts on a homegrown, spreadsheet-based system,” says Marc Rohde, IT director, Andis Company. “As the total number of parts we needed to forecast increased, our spreadsheets became unwieldy to use.”

Rohde and his team began looking for a supply chain planning solution that would be robust enough to handle several thousand SKUs, yet intuitive enough to allow a lean team of planners to manage exceptions on a day-to-day basis. They researched six solutions before seriously evaluating three—and ultimately choosing Demand Solutions.

“We sell a wide variety of hair grooming products for both humans and animals, and our market is worldwide,” says Rohde. “Many of our sales come from beauty supply stores, but we also do significant business in big-box stores. It takes a powerful supply chain planning solution to handle this complexity—and we’re completely confident that Demand Solutions DSX will be up to the task. We’re anticipating higher stock rates and more on-time deliveries to customers as a result of using this solution.”

Andis Company joins the ranks of the many companies that have chosen to run their businesses on Demand Solutions DSX platform. Although Andis Company has chosen an on-premises implementation, the platform can also be implemented in the cloud for companies that want to avoid an up-front investment in hardware and software licenses.

“We are delighted that Andis Company has chosen Demand Solutions DSX,” says Bill Harrison, president of Demand Management. “Andis Company began as a small, family-run company but has grown exponentially over the years. With Demand Solutions DSX, they now have the platform they need to sustain profitable growth for decades to come.”

Demand Solutions Receives Coveted Recognition from Inbound Logistics Magazine

Demand Solutions Receives Coveted Recognition from Inbound Logistics Magazine

Demand Management is Again Honored as "Top 100 Logistics IT Provider"

ST. LOUIS (September 13, 2016) – Demand Management Inc., a leading global resource for cloud-based supply chain management solutions, announced today that it has been named one of the Top 100 Logistics IT Providers by Inbound Logistics Magazine.

In creating this year’s list, the editorial staff of Inbound Logistics carefully considered applications from more than 400 companies. Demand Management—maker of the widely used Demand Solutions supply chain planning suite, which can be deployed in the cloud or on-premises—emerged as one of just 100 honorees.

Each company’s application included questionnaires, personal interviews, and written materials in which they described their contributions to the field of logistics. The magazine’s editors specifically looked for vendors that make logistics and supply chain technologies a particular focus of their business, and which have amassed convincing customer success stories. The winners are listed in Inbound Logistics’ April 2016 issue—which is the magazine’s annual logistics technology issue—as well as on the magazine’s website.

“We thank Inbound Logistics for naming Demand Management to its Top 100 Logistics IT Providers list for the sixth time,” said Bill Harrison, president of Demand Management. “Being selected for such an exclusive list gives us reassurance that we are on the right track as we seek to help our customers shorten their lead times and increase predictability across their supply chains.”

The 100 companies included on the list get more than a mention in an article—they will also be included in the Logistics IT Decision Support Tool. This tool lets companies enter their requirements into a website and then receive a list of logistics IT providers that are best suited to their needs.

“If you’re in the market for logistics technology, log onto the Logistics IT Decision Support Tool today,” says Harrison. “It will help take the mystery out of finding solutions that improve your scheduling and shorten your lead times. And if you’d like to achieve these goals while also tapping into the convenience and cost-effectiveness of the cloud, please consider what Demand Solutions has to offer.”

Demand Management President Bill Harrison Honored as a 2016 "Provider Pro to Know"

Executive Earns Honor for Eighth Consecutive Year

ST. LOUIS (August 23, 2016) – Demand Management Inc., a leading global resource for cloud-based supply chain management solutions, announced today that its president, Bill Harrison, has been named a Provider Pro to Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine.

The award winners were announced online in March at www.SDCExec.com. All winners were listed in the March 2016 printed issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

Today’s business climate presents significant challenges for any company that runs a supply chain. The Pros to Know Awards recognize supply chain executives—from manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprises alike—who are leading initiatives to help prepare their companies to meet these challenges. Harrison’s nomination was one of more than 350 that Supply & Demand Chain Executive received for the 2016 Pros to Know Award.

Harrison is listed among the 2016 Provider Pros to Know. These individuals work at software firms and service providers, in consultancies, or within academia to help supply chain clients or the supply chain community at large prepare to meet significant challenges. The 2016 listing also includes Practitioner Pros, who perform similar roles within their own companies.

“Being honored once again as a Pro to Know makes me grateful for the collaboration and support of Demand Solutions customers around the globe,” said Bill Harrison, president of Demand Management. “They are the truly remarkable people within today’s supply chain discipline. Whether they’ve deployed our solution in the cloud or on-premises, they’re striving to deliver greater value to their own customers by boosting service levels and squeezing unnecessary expenses out of their supply chain processes. All of us at Demand Solutions look forward to helping them achieve new levels of success.”
