History/Forecast Changes Color Display (Release 3.0 and Greater)
There are options available that allow the color of the Forecast and History values to be changed. These color options allow for any differences between the Original History/System Forecast and other History/Forecast values to be easily identified. The colors used are controlled by the settings in the System Options. To access these options, from the Admin tab of the ribbon, select Global Options and then click on the System Options tab.
Note: The options displayed will look similar to those shown below, which are the System Options for version 3.3. These options are controlled by the DSX modules that have been licensed.
The History/Forecast Change Configuration options are set on an individual user basis. This type of option must be set with the User-Specified radio button selected, which is displayed in the section highlighted in red. Click on the User-Specified radio button, and then making changes to the History/Forecast color options.
Within the History Change Configuration and Forecast Change Configuration selections, shown in the green box, there are two options: 1) Display any differences between the values in the history/forecast streams displayed and the values in the Original History/System Forecast in the color selected and/or 2) Not to display the values in the stream if they are the same as Original History/System Forecast. If both options are selected, only differences will display in the stream and in the color selected.
Key Items to Consider:
1) The comparison stream for History is Original History and the comparison stream for Forecast is System Forecast.
2) The configuration will apply to all History and Forecast streams compared to Original History and System Forecast that are displayed on the spreadsheet.
3) The comparison streams (Original History/System Forecast) must be displayed on the spreadsheet in order for the color/difference options to change the display of the values. If the streams are not displayed, the color/difference changes will not be displayed on the screen.
Example:
To configure the system to show History and Forecast changes to be highlighted in RED, both the History Change Configuration and Forecast Change Configuration boxes will be checked with the color chosen as Red. If only the differences in value need to displayed, users would check the Value Diff Display Only box. The spreadsheet would look like below, with the only the differences between the Original History and System Forecast streams and any other Forecast/History streams showing in the cells, highlighted in the color Red. Notice that Original History and System Forecast are displayed on the spreadsheet.
