cost, insurance, freight (CIF) or CIF

A freight term indicating that the seller is responsible for cost, the marine insurance, and the freight charges on an ocean shipment of goods.

Factors such as product pricing, introduction of new products, and distribution of existing products are examples of strategic decisions that are affected by cost management.
